Why Take Youth Mental Health First Aid?

This course gives public health professionals practical tools to recognize and respond to mental health and substance use challenges in young people (ages 12–18). You’ll learn how to spot early warning signs, offer supportive, appropriate first-line help, and connect youth to the right resources—skills that directly strengthen community outreach, crisis response, and prevention efforts.
